What are the health benefits of using a sauna?
More than heat — a daily ritual. A sauna is a place to slow down, recover and reset. Many of our customers tell us regular sessions became the best part of their routine.
Deep relaxation. The warmth helps release tension and quiet the mind after a long day — a genuine moment of calm. Stepping into a warm, quiet room is a deliberate pause that many people use to decompress.
Muscle recovery. Athletes use the sauna after training to soothe sore muscles and wind down from intense effort. The heat raises skin and core temperature, which many find helps them feel looser and more relaxed after exercise.
A clean glow. A good sweat opens the pores and leaves skin feeling fresh, clean and refreshed. It's a simple, satisfying finish to a session.
A better wind-down. A session in the evening helps many people transition into a calmer, more restful night. The cooldown after the heat is part of the ritual — and for a lot of our customers, it's how they close out the day.
Make it part of your routine. The benefit comes from regular use. A home sauna puts that ritual within reach every day — no commute, no schedule to keep. Whether you choose a hot conventional sauna, a gentle infrared room, or a 3-in-1 combination, the best sauna is the one you'll actually use often.

What is the difference between a conventional sauna and an infrared sauna?
There are two genuinely different ways to enjoy warmth: a hot conventional sauna and a gentle infrared room. A conventional sauna heats the air to a high temperature; your body responds to the hot air and the steam you create by pouring water on the stones. An infrared sauna uses radiant panels that warm you directly at a lower air temperature. They feel different, they run differently, and they suit different routines.
If you love the traditional ritual — high heat, the option of steam, a venik, a social room — a conventional banya heater is the answer. If you want something you'll use quietly every day, with fast warm-up and lower running cost, infrared is hard to beat.
You don't have to choose. Our 3-in-1 combination rooms put a conventional banya heater and infrared panels in one space, so you get the intense ritual and the gentle daily option in the same room.

Does a higher-kW heater mean a hotter, better banya?
Many people assume a higher-kW heater means a hotter, better banya. It's a myth — and it works against you.
The higher the kW, the fewer stones fit in the heater and the more oxygen the elements burn. That's why a typical electric sauna feels stuffy and gives some people a headache: pour water on the stones and it reaches the exposed, red-hot heating elements — producing steam with a harsh smell.
Our heaters come in 4, 6 and 8 kW, each carrying 80 to 100 kg of stones. When you pour water, the steam comes off the deeply heated stones — never off the elements. The air never dries out, oxygen stays comfortable, and breathing is easy.

How is heat distributed in a sauna, and why do bench levels matter?
In a sauna, warm air rises and layers by temperature — a real gradient from the floor to the ceiling. A bather on the lower bench sits in gentle warmth; a bather on the upper bench sits in intense heat. That is exactly why we build two bench levels — you choose how hot your session feels simply by where you sit.
Fresh air enters through a small ¾″ gap under the door, flows across the floor toward the heater, rises as it warms, and keeps the air breathable — no stuffiness, no headache.
What are water-protected heating elements?
Our signature electric banya heaters use heating elements protected from water. That's what lets you pour water on the stones and bathe with a venik in a wet Russian banya — using the very same heater that runs a dry sauna. One heater, both modes, with elements that aren't exposed to splashing.
Why must the wall cladding run vertically?
The interior wall boards in a sauna or banya must run vertically, not horizontally. This is a construction detail that matters more than most people realise.
Vertical cladding creates a continuous path for interior micro-drainage — condensation moves down the grooves instead of sitting in the joints. Horizontal cladding traps moisture behind and between the boards, and that trapped moisture is what causes the black mold spots you sometimes see in poorly built saunas.
If you see a sauna with horizontal interior cladding and dark spots forming — that's why. We build with vertical cladding as standard, on every room.
How do you size a sauna heater?
DreamSauna confirms heater power based on room volume and insulation. More kW is not automatically better; the goal is enough stone mass and the right element configuration for your room.

For combination rooms we can pair electric and infrared in one space, and for unusually shaped rooms we can specify a custom configuration.
For very large banyas we often supply two heaters — 6 or 8 kW each — combined into a single heater guard. The result is a unified 12 or 16 kW unit carrying close to 200 kg of stones — far more effective than any single heater with many exposed elements and very little stone mass. Same principle, scaled up.
Are the heaters certified and warrantied?
Every electrical sauna heater we supply is certified and backed by a warranty certificate from Parilka Inc. — because a sauna should last for decades, not seasons. Made in Canada.
Warranty certificate. Heaters are designed for a sauna room of minimum 190 q.ft.
The 4 kW, 6 kW and 8 kW heater is certified, approved and advanced — with hidden elements (which burn less oxygen in the sauna) and extra-deep compartments for rocks (about 100 lbs).
The heater will be free of defects in material and craftsmanship for a 5-year period from the date printed on the heater label. We guarantee a free-of-charge repair during that period.
This warranty does not apply if the elements have been damaged by accident, any abuse (for example by aggressive liquid), and misuse, or as a result of service by any other party.
